Richard Mirro is a senior lecturer in the Department of Extension and Innovations Studies, School of Agricultural Sciences, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Makerere University. He is an experienced researcher, academic, trainer and facilitator of change processes for farmers’ organizations, innovation platforms, and gender responsive processes.
He researches on training transfer and return on training investment R&D for agricultural institutions. As board member of the Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services, he led an e-study on AEAS service provision in the COVID 19 lock down in Uganda. He has also led at country level, the USAID’s Development Local Extension Capacity on Youth Engagement in Private Sector Extension. He engages in research on the use of ICTs in EAS. At the international level he is a trainer and facilitator with the African Women for Agricultural Research and Development, where he focuses on Science Skills, gender in agricultural research and development, and in leadership development among agricultural research and development institutions. At GREAT, he contributes to research designs that integrate gender in agricultural research, quantitative methods, and how to communicate research results for action among communities.
